IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT

ROSS WIGLEY, CSR D01, VANCOUVER

How long have you been a CSR with Canadian Linen?

I have been with Canadian Linen for 17 years.

On average, how many kilometers do you drive in a day?

I started as a route relief driver, and then took a route in Sea to Sky Country (West Vancouver) for 12 years. My drive time went from 500 kilometers a day to approximately 150 kilometers.

What do you enjoy the most about your job?

I love getting out and about to make sure my customers are taken care of.

What is your favourite customer story or interaction?

I remember one time in Whistler, I was sitting in a customer’s office going over inventories when we both noticed my truck rocking side to side. Turns out it was a bear looking for snacks! It wasn't the first time that had happened, but at least I wasn't in the truck for this one!

Do you have a system for organizing your truck?

I was trained to load the truck by invoice, and I still do to this day.

Do you have any pet peeves related to your truck?

No pet peeves about my current truck. It's far better than what I started out in.

Since we’re in the business of laundering, do you iron your own clothes?

I don't iron at home. I'm a year-round shorts and sweater guy, no suit and tie here.

When you’re not in the truck, what are your favourite hobbies?

When I’m not at work, I like spending time with my three daughters and wife. Whether it's softball, dance, soccer or working out, these little ladies are the secret to my youth!
